MovingBeyond COP
The MovingBeyond COP event is designed to bring together business, investors, local/national government and civic society to drive the change desperately required to meet the UK’s commitment to the Paris Agreement. More importantly it will help kick-start a far more ambitious goal of reaching net zero some 15 years earlier, by 2035.
The event will draw 60 leaders from 20 organisations for three days to Findhorn, Scotland to envision what a Net Zero 2035 UK could look like and create a framework to drive change. It will take place just before the UK hosts COP27 in Glasgow.

Pulse helped to initiate the event and will co-lead the overall design and facilitation with the Beautiful Corporation, B-Foundry and Good People. We have considerable experience in working with business and financial leaders and understand the key drivers of change, as well as how organisations can reach out both internally to their people and externally in the drive to build a more sustainable world.

It has become clear that there is no lack of ambition, expertise, capital or goodwill to address climate change. However, a primary barrier to progress is the failure of different stakeholder groups from across society to effectively engage and support each other.

So, we are deliberately designing an event with no speakers (everybody is speaker and a participant) and keeping a level of openness to what might emerge, so those who take part can take responsibility for the outcome. Leveraging purpose at both the personal and corporate level will help us to rapidly reach a place of deep understanding not achieved in the traditional boardroom or corporate environment.

For all who attend, new and fresh thinking will be a key outcome to be taken back into the day job. More meaningful relationships and a shared vision will be forged with people from organisations that might otherwise not have crossed paths. Most importantly, the event will bring a far greater understanding of what a Net Zero UK can look like and what are the critical steps to drive the ambitious change needed.
